I got really good input

Hello to all.
Last week I posted an entry entitled "Passed out yesterday". I got some excellent advice from the people who responded. My thanks to all.
I am trying a new regimen. It's too soon to tell if it's working, but it can't do any harm and might do some good.
I get up at least one hour before swimming so I can probably absorb some food without overloading. I've started doing a 1/2 smoothie including banana, orange juice, blueberries, melon, and protein powder. In order to compensate for the sugar high, I also take a half bagel with peanut butter. The bagel gives me solid food and I wash it down with the smoothie, which gives me some preliminary hydration. At the pool, I sip from a 750 ml bottle a mixture of apple juice and water, with a small quantity of salt thrown in. The smoothie/bagel combination is new and I am still tweaking it. My challenge right now is to control the spare tire around my waist so my regimen will now have to keep me away from those in-between meal snacks.
Regards to all
Edouard

Maybe try some protein?
The bagel broken down just equals sugar.
