numbness in arms & hands

Besides the pain I expected to have after my implant on 3/9/2010 (which I expected because I also deal with RA & Fibromyalgia and figured I would wind up having more than the normal amount of pain after surgery than most) I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with numbness and tingling sensations in their arms and hands after their implants, especially after laying down for even just a short period of time?

This has happened to me too.

I received my pacer in 2004 and it happened a lot of the time. During the years it got better. However, to this very day, I still get it occasionally but only down my left arm and into my hand.

During the past several months, I've been sleeping on my back and both arms go completely numb!!!

My guess = I'm pinching a nerve.

But something worth noting to your family doctor the next time you see him/her.

Take care,
Pookie

I also experience some of this. I also have fibro and it seems recovery is just taking a bit longer. My numbness is shoulder, top of chest and a little down arm. Numbness/tingling in hand definitely after being on computer too long. I put a pillow under my left arm as much as possible, while watching tv, reading, and even when on the computer. Seems to help.

But like everyone on here always says. If you are concerned with symptoms call your doctor and get it checked out. Better safe than sorry.

Hi Rick,

shortly after my PM implant 11-09. I would wake up in the night and my hand or hands somethings felt numb and tingling, when I went in for my PM check up (3months) I asked the PM nurse and she thought it sounded like it was more (cervical spine) related. It was odd because even though I do have a slight bit of arthritist in my neck I never had this feeling until after the implant, It did go away after a month or so and I did not have it everytime I went to sleep.
Hopefully yours will go away too.

Me too

Hi
I have been experiencing this too, especially down my left arm. I also get cold hands sometimes and this is new to me since implant. I agree that it is probably nerve endings and our bodies trying to get back to normal post surgery.
All the best
Howard
