massage chair

I've got a question. In one of the malls they had some massage chairs but on one was a note posted warning about pacemaker use. Is there any problem with using a massage chair? It give you a full body deep tissue massage. Does anybody know?

If the chair has magnets, it's not a good idea. My dr said most of them at spas, etc, are fine but I don't feel good in them. I can sit in them, like for a pedi, but feel weird if it's turned on. Same thing for the massage table my chiropractor has.

If you pace with rate response, the vibrations may make the pm think you are exercising and raise your rate. Harmless, but doesn't feel too good.

anything to have a massage right now! My left shoulder is always so tight. Don't think I'd do the chairs; but I'd allow a live person to give me one.

I hear ya! Although I would LOVE, LOVE a massage; I'd be very skeptical about getting one. I would not want the person to do anything that will affect my ICD. I'm just so uncomfortable all the time. I think if I could raise my left arm and stretch it; I'd feel a lot better. Two more weeks and hopefully I will be able to raise my arm and stretch!
