MRSA in pacemaker site

I just spent 28 days in the hospital. I wound up with MRSA in my pacemaker site. After fighting the infection for a week I had to have the pacemaker removed. I had also had epicardial sinus lead placement, so they were really worried about the infection traveling right to my heart. Luckily that didn't happen. I have gotten a new pacemaker/defib on the right side now. They just put it in Tues. I went into the hospital March 5th. Sure was good to get home yesterday. They were unable to place a sinus lead this time, so the two sides of my heart still won't work together like they should, but I am protected from sudden cardiac arrest. But the cardio myopathy is not being treated. Not the outcome I hoped for, but better than some things that could have happened. Susan

Hi.

Wow, what a journey you just went thru!!!!!!!

It seems to me you have a very good attitude which is half the battle.

Life is hard. All we can do is our best and take each day as it comes.

I wish you the very very best of luck.

Take care,
Pookie

Okay, if you can go through all that and you are on your computer reaching out, I have nothing to complain about. I am having surgery tomorrow and compared to yours it should be a piece of cake. Stay well and thanks for the update.

You name your daughter “Synchronicity”.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
