PM settings & Blood pressure

Hi all :)
I have a question about the PM settings and ones BP
this confuses me and so I thought I would ask :)
my top setting on my PM is 120 bottom is 50...my BP usually is 120/78 pulse is usually 62 or so... okay so yesterday I was outside with hubby doing yardwork and weed wacking, mowing etc etc.... I sometimes feel sob so yesterday when I did I came in and took my BP oh and throw in some PVC's too anyways, my BP was 130/83 pulse 78... so would the low setting of 120 on my PM cause the sob that sometimes I experience? this happens when I walk hills too? should it be set higher the PM settings - I am fine with the lower part at 50..
So can someone please explain to me about these settings
and the BP ? or if it has anything to do with it? (the BP)
sometimes I have read on here that when one does activities they get sob and that the settings on the PM need to be adjusted? I am in my 8th month with my friend the PM:)
I am so confused about these settings and activities....
I am on a beta blocker too 50mg once a day...
Thank you for your help :)

Check 10 or 12 posts down

I posted something the other day regarding heartrate and heat and humidity. Check about 10 to 12 posts down from your post.

When I workout my heartrate can get as high as 145 (my upper limit is 150) and particularly when it is hot and humid. Not only is the exercising increasing my heartrate, but the heat and humidity do too. In an effort to get my body to cool down, my heart is working harder. That is why I only workout indoors in the heat and humidity and keep myself hydrated as well.

Rate Response

Hi.

Just a quick thought....perhaps you could ask your cardiologist or whoever you see about your pacer all about Rate Response as this can effect how you feel when doing an activity.

also - there is a slew of good information on this site about Rate Response....you could use the SEARCH button (upper right hand corner) and get a wealth of info about it.

I do remember one particular posting by Snitch that explained Rate Response very very well.

Take care,
Pookie

Today I explained everything to my doctor, he set my lower rate back to 80 and I felt an immediate improvement.
