I have been having a sensation I describe as a "kick"in my chest and it hurts! I also get dizzy and short of breath but just for a couple of seconds. I went to a cardiologist and he said I am a paced 94% of the time . He says my symptoms are not related to my heart or pacemaker. He referred me to a neurologist. Sound right? I'm on Bystolic and he says I don't need it. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Generally, pain that lasts a couple of seconds is not heart related. Proper heart pain is more on going. The most likely cause of pain is from your chest wall. A palpitation is felt as a bump in the chest, though it does not cause pain.
With your specialist saying you don't need Bystolic, I am wondering whether you have low blood pressure- when this drops significantly you will experience dizziness and shortness of breath- your heart will try to compensate with some 'extra activity', and certainly with a pacemaker response, a sense of having palpitations. There may be some sweating noticed.
Stopping the betablocker ( Bystolic) would be helpful. Your blood pressure should rise, there is less tendency to have low blood pressure attacks and the problem is likely to go. Do get your blood pressure checked once you have stopped the Bystolic.
Kind regards.
