Update

On December 13 I was updated from a pacer to a BiVentricular ICD. I had some bleeding in the pocket the ICD was in. It swelled up to at least 1 1/2 times. They went in a drained it. And now it seems to be getting better. Still some swelling but getting smaller. I had to be upgraded because my heart rate jumped up to 175bpm for about 2 minutes.

Hi! So now you have a back up for your heart. On my second ICD since 2004. I am sorry you have had some recovery difficulty. Follow your doctor's orders carefully so you can hopefully avoid additional problems. Watch for signs of infection like fever, warmth, added or continuing pain and/or swelling at the site. Take care. Hopeful Heart

Bi-v here too.

I had a large hematoma for 4 weeks under my skin that slowly dropped by gravity. Body soaks up so much it just seems amazing. My incision leaked "old " blood up to the 5th week. Spose it would have been like yours but it eventually stopped and feels / looks real good now.
St Judes and real happy with it all so far.!
Got mine December 10th.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
