Running with rate response

Hey there!

I was wondering if there is anyone here who is running regularly, and needs the pacer's rate responsive feature most of the time. If so, what are your settings?

I have recently started an interval-training on the treadmill, and sometimes in the park close to my home. I walk three minutes, then run three minutes. I'm rather slow at the moment, walking at 6km/h and running at 8km/h. I need the rate response all the time. The thing is sometimes while running my heart rate drops a little below 120bpm which leaves me very short of breath, legs hurting etc. Overall, it seems that my rates when I walk are higher or the same as when I just walk. Weird, isn't it? I have no idea how this could be changed. I mean, I know a lot about my rate response and it took a while to get settings right but now that I started to run, I'm encountering these new problems.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Inga

I couldnt run upstairs or go hiking up hill without my rate response on

You know you're wired when...

You play MP3 files on your pacer.

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.
