Are you worried about the weight or the battery change? Battery changes are super easy! I've had three now, it's nowhere near as bad as the first implant (which I didn't think was bad!). If I get an early appointment, I'm home fixing my own lunch. Last time I left two days later for a road trip to Key West. I stayed off the waverunners but other than that did everything I planned to do before.

Weight, it's better to get it under control now than keep gaining and have a whole lot to lose. Easier said than done, I know! We already have screwy hearts, it's important for us to stay fit and a healthy weight, we don't need plumbing problems on top of our electrical problems. I like sparkpeople.com. It has lots of great food and exercise tips to make being healthy a lifestyle rather than a diet choice. It's free and you can track your exercise and food. Weight Watchers is also great for reteaching the habits that caused the weight gain in the first place.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
