Just sent you a private message :o)

Several members have had extractions. I'm sure they'll speak up and tell you what to expect.

Would love to hear more about how you made out. I should find out this week when my surgery for repositioning my ICD will be due to skin erosion by my device. Have you had the surgery yet? would love any advice on what to expect.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK****** Check out your surgeon and make sure he has experience with lead extractions. The Cleveland Clinic has an excellant web site and lots of information RE: lead extractions. I just had the Medtronic recalled lead removed and they tried to remove a St Judes lead also but the cable and sheath broke off and now I have the coil stuck in the vein plugging it off. Doc is avoiding me and they seem to have "lost" the piece they did get out. You have the right to demand possision of all components removed, i got the ICD and the Medtronic lead but not the St AJUdes lead. They won't like it but if you make it plain to everyone that you want the components they have to give them to you. Its sad to say but you just cannot trust anyone when its your life you are talking about. This is just my personal opinion but I've been through three ICD's and 5 leads in the last three years and still have parts hanging around that don't belong in me. Best of luck to you . Papa Knight

I still need to have mine redone and wires extracted and in the process of deciding everything! And btw, my device was places way too far under my arm and it moves every time I move my arm....... needless to say....... the surgeon will hardly speak to me! Know the feeeling!!!!!!!
