what is dead

The pm has no control over your bp, only your hr.
It's "dead" as in not fully functional anymore and on its last legs but from what you describe it's not dead-dead, as in not a drop of juice left in it and no longer pacing. They just don't die that quickly, there is a safety window built in so we are safe in the time it takes to schedule replacement surgery. If it was truly not pacing at all and you were in danger, trust me when I tell you you would not have been allowed to walk out the door after your last appointment. I've killed 4 of them now, all of them were considered dead but all were still pacing the day they were replaced.

If it's emergency

what are they having you wait for? Doesn't sound right somehow. The others are correct, it sounds more like EOL than completely dead. Maybe you are worrying prematurely. You definitely need to ask some questions.
thank you

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.

Has your rate dropped under 55? Because you sounded more EOL than totally dead to me. EOL doesn't feel good but you are safe and it lasts for about 3 months. If it was totally dead and/or you were at risk, they would have worked you in sooner.
