I not sure how i am going to be able to work in the heat this summer.or how to go about talking to my boss about my health or is just me? thanks

Heat & Cold

Patty Crab, there is one other thing I had planned to mention. While I have no idea what, if any, medications you may be taking, there are some heart mediations that will increase our sensitivity to hot or cold. I just wanted to mention this in case you got some new medications to go along with your pacemaker. Smitty

He Patty Crab,

I have never heard of a pacemaker having any effect on how well a person tolerates the heat or cold. However, that is not to say one will not. I do know that some people with a heart problems are more susceptible to heat or cold. You see among the many things our blood circulation system does is to provide a means of keeping the body cool when we are hot or warm when we are cold. I'm sure when working, in the heat especially, you have noticed that your heart rate will increase. You are less likely to notice it but your heart rate will also increase if you are in a cold environment.

I would suggest that you discuss this with your doctor as there may be some pacemaker changes that can be made to help you tolerate heat or cold.

I've heard of people feeling less cold when their circulation improves, but not losing tolerance for temperature changes. As Smitty said, that doesn't mean it's impossible. I second his question about meds, some of them will do that. Hormones will also. Check with your GP, it's more likely something else is going on than your pm.
