lead replacement of defibrillator

My new defibrillator has shocked me 3 x since Nov 28 -08 installation and not because I always needed it to correct my rhythm. Dr's think lead is in wrong location to read properly and am waiting for surgery to correct it. What am I to expect from this - anyone else have shocks that were by accident. Did new leads fix the problem. I'd rather lead a life thats not so shocking.

Many things can cause your problem. You need to talk with the tech. that interrogates your device and press them for any advisories or recalls. Ask if any problems show up in the interrogation. A good EP can be your best friend. It is not right for anyone to experience these "accidental shocks" Be firm and insist on hard copy of your records.
Best of luck to you
