Hi I haven't been on this site for some time but would like to know if any ladies have any information on the following.
Normally I have Gel nails at the Nail Bar but was thinking of changing to Shellac does anybody know if this is OK if you have a pacemaker.
Many thanks

No need to apologise ; I am not female, am not a cross-dresser and never ever get my nails varnished . It would worry my wife if I did : )
Seriously though, UV light is used to harden Shellac and is absolutely 100 % safe with your PM.
Best wishes
Ian

.................PM Club continues to be the most amazing gang of people imaginable....
And long may it be so..
Here, we have every bit of the Cardiac Rainbow that might be conceived.....SO......
..............Sheepwash..........For myself nail polish I can take or not....every day is not nesesarily a best day...
IAN MC though is a pillar of society and , by definition, has a team of 'Soigneurs' to ensure that he is always buffed for his eager fans....a little sanding and clear polish would be the talk of HELLO magazine should he ever, heaven forbid, neglect this vital detail..
IAN MC will always be my favourite twin brother regardless of his choice of Chanel 'Passion' over St Laurent 'Puce'
Its all about 'give and take'
Sheepwash..slap it on ..it'll be just fine.

Hi Sheepwash Please please please tell me this is not a serious question . I know that UV light is involved in the hardening process with Shellac but UV light is what you are bombarded with every time you go out in the sun.
For other worried PM patients; yes you can safely go outdoors on a sunny day . I risked it today and am fine so far !
Cheers

You go, AngrySparrow1! The more misinformation and outright myths we can disprove, the better we will all be. We need to have a way to get this information outside of this forum, however.
Sheepwash, not to downplay your question, but it sounded like you were concerned about the gel or shellac chemically, not the machine for curing the substance. What is your real worry?

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.

Sorry Ian if you thought this wasn't a serious question but as I had no idea what equipment was used I thought it better to be safe than sorry.. Not all of us are up on nail procedures and as you will see I did address it to the Ladies
Apologies if you are a female named Ian
