Advise would be welcome please

Hi everybody-I am a new member although I have been looking at this site since I had my PM implanted on 8th Jan(in th UK)
I had PM fitted because of SOB and light headednes.
Since I hade it fitted I am getting very strong heart beats and can see my heart beating through my chest and also feel the pain in my head. After 6 weeks I went for a PM check up and the technician told me that one of the leads wasn't working-she arranged for x rays and also 24 hr ECG and Blood monitorand advised me to go back in one month, When I returned after the month I was able to see the Consultant who told me that one of the leads was blocked and if I wished he would do the operation again and this time use a screw lead, however he said that if I could put up with the heavy heart beat which happens usually in mid morning and early evening when I am sitting resting he assured me that I was 100% safe.

Has anybody else had this problem, as I am not sure I am doing the correct thing in leaving the blocked lead in. My consultant has told me to go back again after 2 months to see if I have decided what to day.

Thanks for your help
Pam

Sorry to hear of your problem..... I am sure some of the guys on here will be able to offer you some advice - I am sorry but I personally cant.....

I just wanted to say hi..... and wonder whereabouts you are in the UK. I am in Poole.

Take care, and hope to stay in touch. xx

i would demand it to be fixed

ridiculous. just shoddy work if you ask me. you either need it or don't. i would ask for a referral to someone else who knows what they are doing but then you have to be prepared for the tonguelashing . they all cover each otheres ass here in canada because we don't pay out of pocket. well welcome and good luck. jessie

Thanks so much

Thanks to all of you for replying to my e mail. I am most grateful and will not wait two months before I see my PM Doctor I am going to see if I can get an earlier appointment and discuss having the blocked lead re-fixed.
Here in the UK we do not get as much information as you appear to get in the US and Canada and therefore as new patients we perhaps don't ask the questions that we should. However thanks to this site I am now heavily armed with questions when I get my appointment
Thank you all again
Keep Well
Loopy Lou I live in North London, not as pretty an area as Poole in Dorset.
