I had a complete new PM and leads put in on January 6, 2021 and started feeling like I was being shocked before I was ever released from the hospital . The nurses told me that was normal , well I'm finding out 5 weeks later when I finally got to see the rep from the company that makes my type of PM and get my interrogation box, that probably 2 of my leads are dislodged and that is why I am feeling the shocking feeling so strongly. She turned down the voltage and the feeling has stopped. B...

I use lawn and garden equipment like ezy turn riding lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed wackers and chain saws. I guess they all recommend 12 inches from pacemaker. I think I should be all right. Does anybody have any experience on this?
Thanks

Hey all,
So I have had sustained sinus tachycardia since my MVR/CRT-P placement and RF ablation for SVT. Went for my first follow up and device check today and I have had 16 events recorded. Only 3 since last download which they told me may have been a remote download I was unaware of because of an alert they recieved saying I had NSVT. There were 3 recordings of NSVT all in the last 1-2 months. Prior to my surgery in November I have never had episodes of NVST or...

Hello and Good health to All!
I am 40 years old female. Two months ago I had a presyncope episode and was diagnosed with high degree AV block. So I had pacemaker implanted immediately.
I was feeling quit ok until my 6 weeks check up. After that I started feeling strange palpitations. While resting, my heart speeds up from 60-70 beats to 100 beats per minute and stays there for about 2 minutes everytime. My heart skips beats during that time and it feels very uncomfortabl...

Hi All
As a newby to both the club and the reality of living with a PM; im wondering if in general does having a pacemaker weaken my heart muscle over the long haul?? Also does the higher the level of pacing also increase the likelihood of weakening my heart muscle?? Prior to my surgery I had a CT angio; a stress test as well as an echo and all results were really good. I was told my heart muscle was strong my calcium score was 5. My only one...

Hello,
(Partially a cautionary tale. I'm 43yo F in decent health.)
Anyone have the above? It's NOT common. Nor did they think it was necessarily caused by PM, although they said the leads could have caused some of the inflammation. I didn't have a heart attack; I was hypoxic & started going into sepsis!
PM inserted 21mo ago, but I just faced death. Discharged from hospital after 3 days, says "Cardiogenic Shock; Cardiac Tamponade; Hem...

Hello everyone, my name is Rhett Burgess and I am 21 years old. I have now 6 heart surgeries due to AV damage in a cardiac ablation 4 years ago. I received a pacemaker. I had what called pacemaker induced cardiomyopathy (PICM) a year and a half after receiving the pacemaker. My ejection fraction dropped from 65% to 38%. I felt tired and could tell something was up. I then had to get a upgrade to bundle of his pacing. The thought of replacements in the years to come and being restric...

Hi, just got a pacemaker 5 wks. Ago. I can feel it pulsing, 5 or 6 times a day and at night when laying on my left side. I asked Dr. if he could adjust it. He reduced the voltage, but now I have shortness of breath. Has anyone else experienced this and want was your outcome?

i had gotten 7 inappriopriate shocks a day after this pacemaker/icd was installed. The icd/pacemaker was programmed too low and when i had afib it thought it was vtach and kept shocking me.
Now i have a choking sensation as if i can't breath and unexplained gastric problems. Anyone have an issue like this? I was given amiodorone to stop the irregular heart beats and then the device was reprogrammed but i was continued on amiodorone for 14 days which caused me to get nauseous and sha...

I recently (12/9/20) was due for a replacement pacer and was "upgraded" from a Medtronic 2 lead Revo unit to a Medtronic 3 lead Serena unit.
The main reason I went for the 3 lead unit was the increase in pacing in the ventricles with the 2 lead Revo unit. I decided to get what I hope are the benefits of synchronized vent pacing over time instead of fighting cardiomyopathy later on- my choice.
Regardless, a bigger issue I had prior to this upgrade was junction...

I had a PM implant oct 21. After 4 weeks I began exercising on my Manuel treadman w incline. I was doing ok until I decided to push its! All of a sudden I felt a pressure in my chest and a feeling in my throat like I wasn't getting enough air. I sat for a few minutes and I recovered! Went to get a device check and told RN about the event and she said she would make some adjustments. Not sure what was adjusted but she said now my heart would have to work harder...

I received a pacemaker in March 2019 due to swallow syncope (blacked out once, and had near-syncope episodes for over 10 yrs before I figured out why). Currently 39yo female. For the first year after the pacemaker, the symptoms of occasional lightheadedness during swallowing certain foods totally went away! Over the past few months, I'm noticing that "almost fainting" feeling again when eating occasionally. Doc says dont worry about it, the pacemaker is working fine. Anyone else...

Morning
I know there have been some papers that suggest a certain percentage of ventricular pacing can result in ventricular remodelling and that this can increase the risk of heart failure in the long run.
I cannot find the answer to the following two questions though.Has anyone seen any studies or even have their own experiences to answer them?
1) if remodelling occurs is the ultimate indication of this the left ventricle ejection fraction?
2) is there any evidence t...

Hi again! I could use some help trying to figure out why I'm feeling the way I am. Today in the morning i woke up feeling very nauseous and my head had started hurting only in my left eye. I checked my blood pressure and it was at 55, could this be causing my symptoms? If so why isnt the pacemaker picking my heart rate up? Have any of you experienced this before and could it be my body had had a syncope and the pacemaker tried to help me? I appreciate your open responses it means alo...

Hello everyone, I recently got a pacemaker about a week ago for my heart stopping causing me to pass out, and I've been feeling a flutter in my heart at 11:42pm everyday. Should I be concerned ? Have you guys felt this too?
Thank you so much everyone for helping me feel better about my daily flutter at the same time each each evening. It was so helpful in such a lonely COVID Time. I have felt so sad with my pacemaker and although grateful for science, I seem to be crying...

Hi, Just wondering if anybody else has had trouble with there Medtronic machine. I had my pacemaker inserted in October and my Medtronic looks like it's stopped working, the green light is not on anymore/ I rang them and they said it takes a couple of day to see when it stops working but they would put in a request for a new machine.
I haven't heard from then at all and I have not ever had any feedback from them or Dr's since having my pacemaker inserted, can anyone te...

One of the things that bother me most is sometimes I can be ok for a day maybe two, then something small will trigger it. For example when I'm moving too fast around the house or if I stand up too fast, I immediately feel OFF. I feel this almost anxiety in my chest mixed with being winded. Its like this immediate state of stress. It's not In my head. I know what I'm feeling. The other morning I walked up a small incline going...
