I had a Boston Scientific Accolade PM installed 4/2018. A few months later I began to notice strange pulsations (throbbing vibrations) occuring randomly at the site of the PM unit in my chest. Later I realized they were not random ... they occured on even hours of the day, more often evening hours, and 14 pulses at a time. They are not painful but noticeable.
My MD never heard of such a thing ... Boston Scientific babbled something about "self-tests" but begge...

Dear Gemita, thank you so much for your message. I was feeling pretty low and having someone to talk to helps. I knew right away something was wrong. I kept getting a stabbing pain in my heart. I then developed very small lumps that kept growing and are painful. I get very itchy and then fluid started to build up where it got hard to swallow. I was in the hospital on strong doses of prednisone (I've had to take prednisone again since) it helps somewhat. Fluid is building up even on my bac...

As I have stated before, I have multiple allergies to components in the leads and pacemaker. The vein which contains the leads has collapsed, fluid around my heart, fluid built up on my left side of my body. Polyurethane leads can be put in, but I will still be allergic to the tips or ends of the leads. There was a pouch found in California to put the pacemaker in. All of this would eliminate most of my allergies. Health Canada has refused to let me have the pouch from California. I'm very...

I had a PM implanted about 6 weeks ago. Since it was done I have been experiencing palpertations or fluttering and also some light headedness. I spoke to both my Cardioelectrian and the Cardioligest about this. The surgeon who intalled it said there is nothing wrong and the charts show a good rythm. The Cardioligest had me wear a monitor for 5 days and said it showed everything was good. The thing is I never had this problem before the PM. Has anybody ever...

Didn't even think about it. I'm taking my grandchild to Disneyland. Should I avoid any specific rides. Checked with the doctor's office. All cardiac warnings? Seems severe.

I am writing this account of a pacemaker infection as a patient because they are rare and because there may not be a written account from a patient, in the hope it may help in the understanding and treatment of the problem.
I am a 73 year single old male who had a myocardial infarction 15 years ago with angioplasty and two coated stents. Last November 7 I came down with what I thought was a bad case of ‘flu which lasted for three weeks. On a Saturday evening I went to the hospital...

My pacemaker placement was April 2019. Surgeon was behind schedule, I woke up during surgery and Fentanyl does not work on me. Lots of pain because one of the leads was not attacked properly so I know how it feels to be tazed from the inside. Second surgery the following day to attach lead in correct place.
I can not walk fast anymore without becoming light headed. I was told by PA that is my life now. Adjust. I am being mildly shocked on a daily basis which I was also t...

I have developed two blood clots, one in the subclavian vein and one in the inner jugular vein. They are causing my left arm to be discolored, swollen and some pain. PM was implanted a little over a year ago along with a follow up av node Ablation. The PM needs to be moved as it repositioned itself too close to my arm. But at this point that is secondary to treating the blood clot problem. Scary. Anyone else had to deal with blood clots?

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right subforum. However, I posted for the first time a few months back before my surgery nervous and all.. update: the surgery went well. I was in pain, of course, for a couple weeks. It still feels uncomfortable depending on how I'm laying.
I currently am super sick. I got diagnosed with acute bronchitis yesterday and the doctor gave me antibiotics. I woke up several days in a row last week with a sore throat and a couple da...
