Dear Friends, I just had My Device checked today. The Technician told Me I have 9 Years and 1 Month left on My Battery! I had My Biotronik Eluna put in Two Years ago this Fall! The last time They checked it in March, they said pretty much the same thing! The technician said I had some A-fib in May. I asked How long it lasted and He said 6 seconds! I said, How could You tell with something that short? He said everything is recorded and not to worry! Is this normal? I keep a Daily Diary a...

A few days ago I had my base rate raised from 60 to 70. Now I'm having palpitations that feel like pauses when I exercise. I was also feeling like I had drunk 900 cups of coffee, but that part seems to have waned. Can too high of a base rate cause this? I swear, I'm about to scream. I've been programned at 50, 60 and now 70....all with issues. RR is on. Calling the office tomorrow but ( excuse my swahili) wtf?!
O. Ver. It....

Hello Everyone, Besides regular Interogations, and blood work, what other tests should you have? Does anyone here have yearly stress tests, echo's and/or chest xrays? Just curious, I know it may depend on your circumstances, but I want to be able to get the MOST out of my checkups!!
Also, did any of you have trouble getting employment AFTER having a pacer iimplanted? I am a stay at home mom anyway and was not employed when I needed surgery. I am also 5...

When you get your pacemaker settings changed, can it take a little while for your body to acclimate to it? I bumped up from 60 to 70 yesterday and my body is feeling a little anxious today. A little short of breath at times too, but not bad. At 60 I had zero energy in the afternoon and throat pressure, and a little short of breath sometimes also. The throat pressure is gone now but I feel like I need a Xanax.
I can't seem to get this right for anything. They also lowered...

I will have my second pacemaker implanted in Thailand and the VA is paying 100%. Interesting story about correct information given to patients. I was informed in 2015, I had 6 years left on my PM Battery. This month, July 2017, I was informed my pacemaker went in the preservation mode or past it's DRI mode. I was stunned and asked. How could this be? I be told in September 2015, that I had six years on the batterby, but. In July 2017 it is past DRI which was reached in...

Cardiologist looked at the interrogation results and answered "Your pacemaker is pacing your heart from the top chamber (atrium) around 50% of the time. This is more than I would expect."
So, as some of you commented on my earlier post, each person results have different meanings.
Of the 7 incidents, I could tell the doctor exactly what was going on when the 2 incidents of fast heart rate occurred. Both were at work, under high stress. After&n...

I had my pacemaker installed in February. I am 77 years of age. I have sick sinus syndrome and atrial fibrillation. I am on flecainide for the AF. This afternoon I went to the pacing clinic here in the U.K. for my second check up by the technician. I explained that when walking fast or climbing stairs I noticed I had a tightness in my chest that I had not experienced prior to my pacemaker being installed. They said that my pacemaker was not currently set to...

I've had a St Judes PM for a number of years, with little or no problems. My checkups rarely reveal any afib. Now it is reaching the end of its battery life and checkups are now up to quarterly and will soon be monthly, I am sure. For all these years it has been set at 70 with a jump to 80 if I am active. Has worked well. Just recently (last week or so) my monitor shows a HR of 62 and it does not go below that. Nothing has been done to change the rate (that I know of) so I wo...

Hello all. I'm new here and this is my first posting.
I've passed out 3 times in 4 weeks. I went to see my EP about it and he said he believes that my BP is dropping too low. But I disagree. I believe my PM isn't responding to my activity level, causing me to pass out due to lack of oxygen. I can't walk 100 feet without losing my breath. When I check my heart rate and blood pressure while winded, it's usually way off... Like 62 bpm, 170/90. This is concerning to me b...

Hi All,
I've had a pacemaker now for 3 year (for sick sinus), and after the first few months of regular readjustments to find setting that worked for me, everything has been mostly fine up until the last few months.
Immediately prior to having the pacemaker fitted I was very active (cycled 18 miles a day, lots of outdoor activities etc). Since having the pacemaker fitted I've not been as active (variety of reasons including having my first son a couple of years ago, p...

I have a BIOTRONIX pacemaker, implanted just two weeks ago. It is shielded for some levels of MRI testing. My question is about the remote monitoring device that comes with it.
It is white and looks like a smart phone. When I left the hospital, the BIOTRONIX tech told me to keep it close to me as much as possible. She said it monitors my heart condition and the PM itself, transmitting the results via cell towers. How often it updates, I don't know. &nbs...

I was taken to the ER two weeks ago after I collapsed. My cardiologist tweaked my pacermaker because he said my heart wasn't pumping fast enough to supply the amount of blood I needed. Also, after years of complaining I couldn't breath, they finally told me I needed oxygen. My problem is ever since my pacemaker was tweaked, I've been having chest pains. I have unstable angina and had a heart attack in 2009. But I've been doing great with no chest pains for a long time. Co...

Hi. I'm the wife. My husband recently (3/31/17) got a pacemaker. It's now 6/9/17. He had surgery and was sent home. Was not ready. Was re-hospitalized for 3 days. All of that is over and it made me angry enough. But now.... so THANK YOU ALL for this site. He was sent home with factory settings. He is USMC Ret. resting heart rate =40 And they left him on factory settings. So he starts to exercise, and has SOB. Dizziness. Just can't breathe. L...

Hello all, wanted to share and ask a question about interrogations and their effect on PVC'S and A-FIB.. I went in for a routine check recently after a 10 month period and all seemed well. The report was normal but I felt strange as I left and for about a month (with travel) there were many more strings of both pvc's and pac's than I am used to. Just about the forth week i went into A-fib and went to my Doctor's office. He was away on vacation so I met with Nurse who sai...

My first pacemaker was reading that the battery would be running out in 2015. It did not. Every check up said the same thing..I would go into end of life in 3 months. But from that time on I had been feeling awful. Very low blood pressure, dizzy, condusion, sleeping 12 hours a day or not sleeping at all, digestive issues and the list goes on. Hospitalized and tested several times but pacemaker always seemed to be in normal battery life. In February of 2017 this year I saw an EP ...

I was getting AFib and AFlutter and had a ablation for the AFlutter, which is much easer to treat that the AFib. The EP said the PM has a mode to treat the AFib that attemps to get the heart out of AFib. I am trying to learn how that works. I am hoping someone on here that is knowledgeable on PM modes for the A2DR01 could help with the pros and cons of such treatment modes. Thanks in advance.
Also since I had the ablation I have felt...
