It has been 3 weeks since my pacemaker implantation. (Oct. 26th 2018) I still feel extremely tired at all times. Yes, it did fix my abnormal heart rythm, but I was guaranteed relif of fatigue. I am yet to feel that. Please tell me what I can do about this or something that may help me cope.

Got my pacemaker Thursday. Got home yesterday from hospital, today I am moving furniture and packing, driving. Everything on the list they say not to do but I have no choice. So since I will be doing the same thing tomorrow and monday and tuesday and wed and prob thurs. cause I have to move it all myself. How bad could I really hurt myself? I have looked at all my options and I am the only one that can do it :/

My husband had a pacemaker implant on Aug. 30th, 2018. It is now almost 2 1/2 months and he still has pain underneath the pacemaker. Incision has healed well. Cardiologist said it will take time. About 3 weeks ago, he also developed shingles on the right hand area just opposite his pacemaker implantation, above the nipples. Shingles could be cause by stress. Not sure if this is related to his pacemaker's pain. Has anyone experience this condition? ...

Hello. I'm a new member and this is my first post. 72 yrs young female with Brady which is reason I got a PM 10 days ago. Grew weary of living between 45-49 bpm. My question is this; ever since surgery when I lie in my side, lean forward ( like picking something up) or breathe really deep I have a dull heavy discomforting pain all the way up to my sternum. It's uncomfortable and now causing worry. They set me at 60 resting rate and pretty much staying there at rest (...

On 10/15/18 I had a Bi-ventricular medtronic device implanted in my upper left chest. The docs discovered a left bundle branch block when I was 30 yrs old. Starting at age 45 my block has been managed well with various meds. I am now 84 and my EF had gradually gone down to the low 40's. I have stayed active all my life with bicycling, long walks, skiing and regular gym routine. My cardiologist also has a PHD in electrical engineering... how lucky for me. My experience was very positive. A...

Hi all,
I am 4 days post surgery now and have been gradually getting back into things without moving my arm too much. It started out sometimes when I moved my left arm that I would get this tightening feeling where the PM was implanted and now it's all the time, almost a pulling sensation. Is this normal or should I be calling my doc?

I had a pacemaker placed Sept. 25, 2018, and since that time I've been having pain in the center of my chest, my neck, and upper back. The pain is not related to the implant site, as that area is just tender at this point. I also get tingling in my left hand like it's asleep. I've had a chest xray, device checks, and an echo, and all of them show that everything is a-ok, but the pain continues. Any ideas? I'm pretty frustrated at this point.

I had my Medtronic pacemaker put in on 10/26/18. For the past day as I have been discharged from my hospital I can frequently feel my pacemaker pacing in the general area around my wound/heart. Is this normal to feel, and is it going to go away with recovery?

Hi all,
I’m new to the club. I’m 73 years old and had balloon operation in June this year. Operation went well and I felt great until the past few weeks that I have been feeling exhausted and haven’t been able to breath properly. I constantly choke while talking. Last Thu my pulse dropped to 33 and I was admitted to the ER. The doctor checked the stent and it is still intact.
The doctor then diagnosed that I have Sick Sinos Syndrome Bradycardia (heart rate i...

How soon after surgery (most recent, 3rd October) can I start using silicon to reduce my scarring?
It isn't the appearance that bothers me,but it's 'sticking' when I rotate my shoulder backwards (which I need to do to reduce the internal scarring from when the pacemaker took up residence on the edge of my armpit for two weeks. Plus I'm working towards starting an exercise programme (after 15 years not able to do anything, I need to get active again) and I don't w...

I had a battery replacement surgery yesterday and had my pm moved to under the muscle. I know from my surgeon and other posts that I would have more pain short term and it will be better long term. I’m excited about that as my other one was super sensitive and was not comfortable. My question is how long is the recovery under muscle vs. under skin? The pain is so much right now but I know it’ll get to be less. I’m just trying to figure out how many d...

I arrived at the hospital at 0800, left at 1300 -- ablation went well (so I'm told -- I dozed all the way through and din't notice a thing) and I am now being paced 100% of the time at 80 bpm. (They'll lower that to 60 bpm at my return visit in 4 weeks time).
It was really a total non-event -- I have a little discomfort where the cannula was put in the back of my hands, and restrictions on lifting (2 weeks) and driving (2 days) .
But overall, I feel great already.

Hi, I’m 27, just had my first pacemaker placed. I’m two weeks post op and still have numbness surrounding the incision site, it extends about 1 inch below the incision. Wondering if this is permanent or will eventually go away. I was not put under general anesthesia for my procedure, had a numbing agent and conscious sedation with versed and fentanyl.
