New to this site and very thankful for all the comments

I just got my pacemaker on Monday 12-17-2018. For AV block and occasional Complete heart block. So far I have been having PVC's plus fast and slow heart rates. I'm trying to be patient for it to settle down. I talked to my EP specialist yesterday and she thinks it is just the settling in phase and it should get adjusted over the next week. I'm very happy I found this site it has been very helpful.

Feeling faint

Thanks all for the support

sought advice from cardiologist, further tests - it appears that I fluctuate between  brachycardia and tachycardia, pacemaker has resolved heart block and low heart rate, now also looking at either beta blockers or ablation to manage tachycardia.

Dual Chamber Pacemaker

I have been around this site for awhile looking at different subjects. Just had a dual chamber fitted for sinus node dysfunction felling ok now just a little sore. PM set to 60BPM actually feel pretty good came in with heart rate around 34 to 37. Everyting staying around 59 to 60 BPM no lighheadedness yet. Excited to get rid of those lightheaded, fatigue and over all related symptoms. Will keep the club updated on my recovery. Hope i can keep this positive attidude moving forward.

Feeling faint

Hi

i had my 2 lead pacemaker fitted 2 days ago , a history of fainting and heart block identified at last faint.

today I have been feeling very faint, blood pressure elevated, when feeling faint I no longer become unconscious but am lightheaded, unsteady, palpitations, pale and sweaty.

is this normal after having a pacemaker and do the symptoms resolve with time?

Healing post pm

l have been scanning through all the posts l could find in regards to healing/swelling post pm. It has been just on two weeks post biventricular pm. I have had the pm inserted into muscle rather than just under skin, hoping to return to CrossFit when able to do so. Doctor hasn’t said no but hasn’t commented at all on the subject so I’ll take that as an eventual yes. Had a CRT-D placed October 2, 2018. 9 weeks out now. I still have some soreness around device area. After waking up in moenings the area is sore and tight, is this normal? What should be the total recovery time until the soreness subsides? TIA

Tightness in chest after drinking/eating

Hello everyone! Today marks 1 week since my implantation. My new lil friend andI are still in the getting to know phase.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this before, everytime I eat even a spoonfull ortake a sip of water, I get this moving tight feelibg in the middle of my chest. Like air moving, andcan be quite painful.  If anyone has, what did you do toget relief? Or does it eventually go away as recovery continues?

Dec 5th is the big day

Hi All,

After a failed surgery in June, lots of doctor trips and a second opinion from Cleveland Clinic, a new solution is going to be attempted in two days time.

Still tired

I had my pacemaker surgery done exactly 5 weeks ago today. I have Sick Sinus Syndrome. I had 4 instances of syncope in which my heart stopped beating completely for 30 seconds, with the final two instances being a minute each.  I am a 73 year old female. My question is: Should I still be feeling tired so much? When I wake up, I feel great. After about 3 hours, I have to lie down. Can I recover at home alone?

Hello All,

   I will have an icd implanted in about a week or so. I live alone and want to know how much help and " babysitting" I will need.How long will I need them? I have some options, some family, some friends...should I research home health aid,? does insurance cover that? I am new to living alone, this would be a downside of separation. I'm sure I can figure this out, I just need information as to what to expect.

Beating fast

Is it normal to be able to feel your pacemaker working , I can feel the pulsing and it beating really fast nearly all the time only time I don’t is when I manage to drop off to sleep . It was recently changed Tuesday ? Moving pacemaker from under skin to under muscle

I had my first pacemaker implanted in 2014. It was placed just under the skin. My pacemaker had always been sticking really far out of my chest to the point where I can see almost the whole device. It shifts a lot, which is painful. It stings when I move my arm in the wrong way, My bra straps make it super uncomfortable because of how far out it is the straps rub against it, as well as tank tops, even seatbelts cause issues for me. Tingling / weakness

Recently we’ll tuesday had my 2nd pacemaker first change , I keep getting a tingling and weakness in my left arm is this normal ? I had low blood pressure loss of feeling after my op , but it came back but ever since it’s been weak and tingly is this circulation or something to do with the new pacemaker ? Newly fitted pacemaker

So I’ve recently yesterday had a new pacemaker inserted after having one put in 9 years ago nearly at 20 years of age , after giving birth to my daughter 14 weeks early due to mySelf apparently being born with congenital heart block this was the only option I had . Muscle spasms

PM replacement

I'm getting myself my 3rd pacemaker in a few days.  Generator change only.  EP suggested I see a surgeon to replace and reroute one of the three leads, but I declined. EP asked, "Why not?"
