Has anyone dislodge a lead by twisting? I have had my pm for about 2 weeks now, and the doctor released me to go to work and drive. Yesterday was the first time I drove, and when I was backing out of a parking place, I had to twist quite a bit to see a car behind me. From about 10 min after that all night and today off and on I have had a a sharp pain in my upper left chest and neck. I don't want to be the one to over react to every little pain, but I have never had a pain hit and stay aroun...

My daughter had her pacemaker (medtronic) placed 4 years ago. We go in to EP every 6 months. She is paced 100%. Every time a tech gives us a battery life estimate, it is always the same number: 9 years. It was 9 years of estimated battery life remaining 4 years ago & it was 9 years last month too.
I asked a tech about it & she kind of laughed it off. Has anyone else had this experience where the number was the same for a long period of time? I realize it&...

I loved having a pacemaker inserted six months ago, after suffering from sinus node dysfunction. It really helped, But I am becoming increasingly dizzy again, and have pain in the area of my second less needed lead (ventricular), especially when jogging. Anyone ever experienced this? I am getting checked out at some point (waiting for a date) but would like to know if anyone else has had this.
Not trying to be depressing: having a pacer is wonderful other than this!

I'm one of the "lucky" members of the Pacemaker club that had the Sprint Fidelis lead implanted in 2005 with my first ICD. I got the recall notice in 2007 and my doctor and I have been monitoring the lead. I had an additional lead installed when I got my battery change in 2011 which "piggy-backed" the recalled lead so I would get the needed shock if it was called for. In 2012, I had another lead fail and had it replaced.
NOW....the recalled lead has failed and am scheduled to have it rep...

I had my pacemaker put in on Friday. I had my first check of my pacemaker yesterday. Now i have to go in for a x-ray. They told me one of the leads may not be in a good position. They said it would be best if i can come in the morning as the doctor will be in. In case he needs to fix the lead. If they have to fix it would this be the same procedure or similar to the surgery i had for my pacemaker insertion? I am going to hope for the best. But i just want to know what i might be dealing with.

It's been 9 years but it's time for a new battery. Have any of you recently had a new pacer and noticed a difference in the technology and how you feel. I have a Medtronics.
Also I'm very nervous, I must have had too much time to think about this. I don't want to be awake during this...The doc told me that I'll have remote monitoring capabilities but I don't have a land line phone, what are my options?

Well - Went into Lancaster General Hospital 8-Jan expecting to have Boston Scientifc device implanted to replace expiring Guidant CRT-D H217 model. Came out with St. Jude Unify model CD3231-40 instead. Go figure? I guess they are all about the same inthe end. Once I get the bill I'll post that info as well. I'd be intrested in how prices compare in various areas.
All the best,
Mark

I'm heading to the doctors today. Today is my 9 year anniversary of having my pacer! Lately I've been feeling so different and my heart feels like it's beating out of my throat and lots of extra beats. I suspect that it's time for a new one but I'm soooo nervous? Any of you been thru this and these feelings? I much more nervous this time around!

Hi there , I have some very big bulging veins come up on top part of body that all my 5 pacemaker wires have caused . I'm due to go in & have 5 leads taken out & are wondering if anyone else has had this done ?
I have two x 2 of left side & one on right & was told I will be cut in all 3 places & if they can't do it that way or if there is complications they will have a heart surgeon on stand by . I'm very worried about this . My first pacemaker was inserted 22 years ago & I have one of th...

Hi, this sounds weird, but I was wondering if anyone has ever felt a kind of "rocking motion" when their heart beats with the PM? It creates kind of a circular motion that I can feel not only in my chest, but all the way up into my head. I had to have the atrial lead fixed on December 18, 2012, and have been taking it real easy and recuperating fairly well since then. Today I was struggling to open a new jar of peanut butter, and felt a pain when I was trying to hold the bottom of the jar with m...

I was wondering if anyone had an issue with their lead pushing against their skin and causing pain. I had my pacemaker replaced and put under the muscle and the leads where also put deeper. but over the past month the leads have been surfacing and pushing against my incision causing a stinging pain. It is very uncomfortable. I saw my doctor who said I could get a pain shot at the sight so that it wouldn't bother me so much. But i'm more concerned about it coming thru the skin. It is possible?

Can anyone else feel their leads from the PM to the chambers?
I could feel the leads as they went in during the operation and I can still feel them now, some days are worse than others. Its constantly there but I can't lean on my left side when on the sofa as this makes it worse or sleep on my left side. I am only 6 weeks post op on my first device, I have never had pain in my chest before and all I can liken this to is a similar sensation to when I got a fish bone stuck but this is i...

Does anyone know if there are symptoms when you are 100% dependent and only have 3 months left on your pacemaker?
I'm starting to feel really tired and I have minor chest pains but I'm not sure if you can start feeling sick so soon. Input needed please!

I have had a PM for over 18 years and 100% dependant. I have struggled with a-fib on and off over the years and have had 6 ablations, 4 cardio versions, and taken many anti arrythmic drugs. Right now, after my last ablation in August, I am in sinus rythmn. Currently I am not on any drugs at all and
I am feeling good. I am jogging, slowly (5mph on a treadmill), about 20 miles a week. Things are look up for this 63 year old.
The reason I am writing is to ask if anyone out there has...

Our mother is 95 years old and has had a pacemaker since 2006. Lately she has experienced being very tired and needs to take naps. She has cut her time on her treadmill to 15 minutes from the usual 30 minutes. She does recover after her nap of an hour or two, and sleeps well at night. My question is could this be a sign she needs a new pacemaker before the anticipated time. She is being monitored every month since September, instead of the usual 6 months. She is 70% dependent on the pacemaker a...

Happy new Year All. Well we made it past the Myan calendar thing so I gues I should get my CRT-D replaced afterall. :-)
I'm scheduled for generator / device replacement next Tuesday 8-Jan. Had the consultation meeting with the Dr's assistant (LPN) and was told they prefer to use SJM or Medtronic.
When I asked why not Boston anymore was told it's no longer their preference due to proprietary system stuff, contract items, bla bla bla..... was told I would probably get...

Is there anyway to tell when your battery is low? I've had mine for 9 years and have started feeling alot of extra beats and not feeling well.
You know you're wired when...
You have a T-shirt that reads Wired4Sound.
