I am as 72 year old accomplished USCF Mastersd cyclists with many medals. In my 50's I trained 350 MPW - now down to 200+. I developed all the symptoms of "Athlete Heart Syndrome". Rest heart:32, sinus pauses 2-3 secs., one at 5.8, syncope, AF. Cardiologist recommended pacemaker. Set at low trigger of 45. Since its installation I get the sensation of muscular myopathy and don't seem to be able to perform at my expected level. I used HRMs for years for HR based training and the Conconi test to de...

Hello members:
I had a pacemaker implanted about two months ago. I always went to a
body conditioning class for 45 minutes which included push ups, sit ups, bar bell weights and legwork. My MD says push ups are out , sit ups are o.k.
Does any one know of where and how I could show an exercise professional each of my movements to approve or disapprove of them because of the PM My MD is unwilling to be more specific than the above
advice. I have gone to the...

Hello out there,
I just had my pacemaker interegated this week and found out there were 213 Rate Drop drop episodes detected since my first implant on 1/6/2012.
I will be seeing the EP next week for discussion.
I was wondering if this might have something to do with my exercise, I jog 5-6 times a week for over and hour, and stop without really walking it off for a couple of minutes.
Has anyone ever had this type of situation happen to them.

Yesterday at college we had the Royal Marines doing training with our class (Want to be in police so we keep doing training with armed forces). About 3/4 of the way through I started to feel dizzy and light headed and thought I was going to faint. 10minutes I was fine again. Is this normal when you are doing strenuous exercise with a PM. Its the most that Ive done ever :) But I just wanted to know if because of my PM if I shoul...

Hello everyone. I am 44 and have just been fitted with a pacemaker. The specialists were scratching their heads wondering about why my heart rate would drop on exercise from 120bpm to 60bpm. I am an ex-professional international rugby union player, a black belt at Judo and very fit. I have monitored my heart when training for a long time but recently noticed this drop in HR when training. I had my pacemaker fitted 2 weeks ago and feel (whilst worried) better. Whilst I do not anticipate playing r...

I don't have my PM yet and will find out all about what and when this Wednesday. About how long do you think I will have to wait to play golf?? My bride of 52 years and I play about 50 rounds a year and it is a big part of our summer life. We have 66 pre purchased rounds so hope we get to use them. Just found out about the PM last week and am a little nervous about the whole thing.
Thanks,
Gramps

After I am heal up after the placement of the crt-d, will I be able to go the pool to get my exercise, and will I have trouble with a rec center with the pacemaker, where I may not be to attend, because of the pacemaker? Any one have advice.

This may be premature, as I've had my Li'l Intruder for less than a month, but I'm starting to go a little crazy, what with not doing anything. I'd been using the post-Nautilus 'Strive' system of machines at my local YMCA, and when I talked with my surgeon about continuing to exercise, he said it would probably be okay, as long as I didn't go for 'monster amounts of weight', he said. Well, at 65, I'm not looking to be mistaken for Ahnold in his prime -- and I haven't been pushing much more tha...

hi there
I've just had my pacemaker checked, it's two years since I had this new one implanted, and it is my second pacemaker.
When I was having it checked, the technician noted that my heart rate was now 45 bpm, whereas, in the past, it was below 30, which I think, personally, is a fantastic improvement. I asked if this was due to exercise, as I have been exercising a lot recently,l and she said that she didn't know! I think that she was pretty new to the job, but wondered...

I have had a fitbit for about 4 weeks. I wear it in my pocket during the day and on my wrist at night.
Some women wear it in their bra. Would this be a problem since I have a pacemaker?
Thanks
