Lead dislodgement

I had a Durata crt d device implanted September 2014. While in the recovery room I asked if the pain was normal.they took expat and a lead had dislodged. I was hardly awake and my Dr said I must have moved. He went back in and hooked me back up. Moving forward to March 2015 my PA said you must be doing okay not heard from you and I was finally feeling pretty good EF up to 45-50. Battery Life

I had a Biotronik Entovis DR-T dual lead pacemaker implanted a little over a week ago. The ventricle lead was put in the coronary sinus to stimulate left ventricle as Dr. (and myself) didn't think it a good idea to put through my recently repaired tricuspid heart valve. I was told there would be somewhat higher impedance with that lead placement but Dr's estimated about an 8 yr battery life.

Disappointed in the followup diagnostic testing today. Could tell something was up when tec...

new noise found on lead

During my device clinic download Friday, they found new noise on the ventricular lead. It had triggered a report of a run of Ventricular Tachycardia in March from the home monitor. They had me press my hands very hard against each other at chest level and this duplicated the event. Anyone have similar experiences, and how did they solve the problem?

Reduce BPM at night to save battery?

Its almost 5 months since my PM surgery and the rate was set at 60 BPM. My cardiologist suggested that I can reduce it to 40 BPM at night so that the battery lasts little longer.I am pacing 100% of the time as my natural rate is around 30 BPM.My PM technician doesn't think the battery's life extends that much if we reduce the BPM at night. Anyone faced this situation before ? Any response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How to know the battery of pacemaker is getting lo

I am a diabetic patient who got the pacemaker implanted in 2008. During my last test in Feb 2015, I was told 3 years battery life is still remaining. Of late I am having dizziness feeling when I try to get out of my bed. Can it be due to weak battery or is it related to some other problem like spondylitis- a blind guess!!

tweeking settings for more battery life

Has anyone ever got the impression that E.P.'s and pace maker technicians ( company reps) are reluctant to tweek to extend battery life because it actually results in less revenue; Or perhaps even replacing a p.m. before going into the EOL mode?

surgery soon!

Hello y'all! Im new to this site! I have a 6 almost 7 year old daughter with complete heart block. She just had ger battery replaced 2 years ago after first getting in placed at 4 days old. We just found out one of the leads is not working correctly and there is a lot of scar tissue around it so instead of having surgery when she was about 15 it will be next week. Im really nervous since they are replacing the leads and have to break her sternum to do this. Its the last thing i want to see my ba...

Three lead pacemaker

Hi Everyone,

I have a CRT-P three leaded pacemaker. My Cardio advised me not to use a rowing machine (which I love doing) due to the amount of upper arm movement and the leads. My question is, Can anybody please give me any idea of the amount of upper body exercise/arm movement they do with three leaded pacemaker, thank you.

Baz

I've had Percy the pacemaker almost 5 years.

Vibration in model V-265

Usually this is a low battery warning. It feels like your cell phone is on vibrate in your chest. Call your doctor and let them know. Often it is not something to visit the ER about since they would have no idea and proceed to do as many tests as they can bill your insurance for! But call your cardiologist ASAP and let them know that the battery is letting you know it's low.

That said, on occasion the vibration is an alert that the device needs attention.

Lead Extraction?

I posted a photo of my pacemaker leads in the member gallery. I've had some recent trouble with arrythmia, so EP ordered a few tests. He noticed on my chest x-ray that one of my leads has made a loop due to some extra slack that was left at the time of implantation. He, and 3 other EP doctors, agree that the lead needs to be extracted. I am getting another opinion at Cleveland Clinic next month, but I wanted to post a picture on here in case anyone has any input. I want to avoid a lead extrac...

Lead Removal

Hi All,

Love the website! Pretty soon I'll be going under to replace my current model ( Medtronic ) which entered VVI mode back on January 22nd. Since then, my heart has been pacing around 65 bpm and doesn't really deviate from that. This is going to be my 4th device and its not so much the device replacement that bothers me, its my one lead.

The two leads are currently 15 (replaced when I was 10) and 22 (implanted during my original procedure) years old. Since I've been...

battery life from 11 months to less than 3 months

Hi all, i am worried about my battery life. I went in December and was told I had 11 months remaining and to come back in March. I have just been and now am told there is less than 3 months and that's all it says so could be a few weeks left. He is putting me forward for replacement and i should hear soon. I'm scared it will run out while I'm driving?? I was told on here a few months ago that it goes on default mode of 40 beats but surely if it went from say 90 to 40 whole driving it would make...

Advice on Low Battery -

Just read a few older posts on this and am promptly freaking out. In December, doc said 3-6 months left - I had a bunch of other issues and somehow I don't have an appointment with the surgeon till the very end of April. The doc that checks me regularly (they are both electro guys - but HMO does not pay for the one who put current PM in, and I am total wuss about even having it checked. Now, for about a month, I just feel off - in a before-PM-kinda-way. Shortness of breath, fullness in chest...
