What are club members' experiences with infection? I had my original pacer replaced and the incision site began to drain like crazy, So the doctor went back in in a second surgery to widen and clean the pocket. The incision site looks a lot better, but the doctor says I have infection in the pocket. He said I need a removal surgery and then a surgery to put the pacer on the other side of the chest. Really??? Has anyone else had to do this? What's it like? Thanks!

Usually cataract surgery is done with local anesthesia and maybe a bit of consious sedation. Is it usually the case that a PM tech is necessary to be in the OR? Does the eye doc request some sort of clearance from the pactient's EP cardiologist? Anyone have experience with cataract surgery?

Hi all.
Medtronic Surescan implanted for AV Block, second degree, on 5/21/18. Healthy, active 45 yo female and all went well. Woke up at 3:30 am a week later to tickling on my chest - was blood seeping from incision. Doctor admitted me and cleaned it up on a Weds and sent me home with antibiotics. Thursday night I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and was admitted again. Friday morning they did surgery again to cauterize the heck out of me because my blood was not clotting and...

I found this club a couple of days ago, and already a couple of questions have been answered. I now know that the rather lumpy area over my PM will probably get much flatter, also it is quite normal to still feel pretty tired 12 days after the implant - being 74 next month cannot help! Grateful thanks to the founder and the members of the club.
Typical story here - I felt dizzy, husband realised my pulse was very slow, spoke to emergency services...

Hi. I’m fairly new at this. I had HIS BUNDLE, 2 lead pacemaker implanted just 4 weeks ago.
I had the glue over my incision instead of bandages and I did leave on for over a week.
My question is, how soon can I start to use Mederma or silicone patches. The area is still very sensitive and sore. I find myself using gauze w loose fitting bandaid to keep some clothing from irritating it. Seatbelt is still a problem and use towel to cushion.
Any suggestions woul...

Hi! I'm a 60 year old female and just got the pacemaker on 5/22. My husband had the impression I would be on my feet and ready to to go by now. I haven't noticed a big difference. I am a side sleeper and that is probably why I am tired. But I was also wondering, I've been having some sort of pain in the middle of my chest when I breathe. Do you think it's something to be concerned about? I have enjoyed reading the messages on the site.

After 3 months of meds, Entresto, a beta blocker, a diuretic and a statin, my LVEF is still around 20%, and my lbbb hasn't improved much and my cardiologist said I need a CRT-D. This is to go in around July.
Any feedback as to what to expect is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there. Got a Medtronic installed Monday, 5/21. I’m an active 45 yo woman who was suddenly feeling faint, dizzy, short of breath, etc. No prior medical history or meds (competed on the TV show Survivor twice in the past 5 years!). Went to cardiologist last week, wore a monitor 2 days and they called Friday and said to report for PM Monday. Still in shock but home now.
recovery question: pain is moderate but last night I was short of breath multiple times, dizzy/faint, and felt a...

Hi everyone, Monday May 21st surgery, now two days out. I have maligant neurocardiogenic syncope so hope it helps. I found out via a reading I am pacing 93% of the time. I was floored! cannot imagine how I functioned fairly well without it. Glad to hear Tedd you are doing fine. I shifted my worry from surgery now to full healing. going to start walking again today. Thx for having this forum!

I feel pretty good. A little tired from the anticipation from the time before getting the pacemaker.
i am able to walk around okay, and I feel my energy returning.
The reason I got pacemaker because of pauses up up to 6 seconds on 14 day Zio patch ( 13 episodes during the 14 days). Interesting, I took blood pressure throughout period and in was about normal 135/75. I am 68 years old.
i suggest any of you on the fence to get the pacemaker. Why risk having an acciden...

I had my device implanted yesterday. I had a very slow heart beat before and now ticking along at 60. Feel great lots of energy.
Is it common to have ave slight headaches from time to time and like a tingling feeling. It has happened a few times and doesn’t last long.
