I had a Medtronic MRI SureScan installed 5 weeks ago. It is set for a low rate of 60 bpm. Rate Response is "OFF". My concern is that, sometimes while exercising, my heart rate will SUDDENLY drop 25-30 bpm as soon as I stop (or maybe sit down). An example is a sudden drop from 100 to 70. I get very light headed when this happens. Is anyone familiar with a setting that will taper this drop down gradually?

I was feeling like I couldn't "get out of first gear" when I was exercising, so the doctor reset the rate response on my Medtronic. I felt some better but asked that it be reset again and that was a mistake that made my resting RH stay at around 90-100 and I think screwed up my blood pressure too. Anyway, they reset it higher and I feel much better. However, now that I have been monitoring my blood pressure and heart rate I have noticed that something like washing the dishes will make my hear...

My blood pressure was going crazy (up at 160/90 in the middle of the night, etc.) and my resting heart rate stuck between 90-100 all the time. I thought it was something to do with the ablation I had 12/9/11, but since my rate response on my pacemaker was reset to medium two days ago, my heart rate is back to around 70 (still should be a little lower) and bp normal!!!!! What a miracle--after 6 weeks I have my body back. Too bad all health problems are not so simple.

Hi everyone. This is my first post, although I read avidly and want to thank you all for your wonderful advice. I am 38 and I had my PM put in October 17th due to Sick Sinus Syndrome & Lupus attacking my heart. My lower setting is at 60 and my upper setting was changed from 130 to 140. I just can’t get going and am fatigued a lot and I have 3 children, 2 with special needs, so I need to be at my best. I also wanted to start exercising again.
I had my first visit with the...

Had my dual chamber pacemaker implanted December 2011. The Doctor had problems getting it in and I had a haematoma afterwards. Have been off work since due to extreme bruising (whole of left breast was black and still has faint marks). Went for check up
end of January and was told that the lead to the ventricle was not pacing but only sensing. The technician bleeped for the Registrar who took the results to a Consultant. On his return I was told that it would have to be replaced as the...

Had my usual pacemaker check and again they checked by raising my pulse to 120, my heart tries to fight against this and they always have to take it a little higher.
Question is does anyone have a couple of days where they have more ectopic beats after a check ? Can it upset your rhythme for a day or two ?
I ask this because I was woken last night with a flutter, not lasting long, but not usual for me, in actual fact I have been really good lately.
Be interest...

My pacer is two weeks old and at the interrogation last week they changed my rate from 60-70.
BUT when I got home I noticed that every time I even MOVED a muscle my rate went to 92. Big hard ventricular beats. I got scared and thought it was atrial fib But I toughed it out for a week. I took a full strength aspirin every day instead of baby aspirin. Just in case.
I saw them again yesterday and they had enabled a Rate Response mode that was supposed to kick in when I wa...

My PAC runs are >16,777,214.
Am I correct in assuming this to be the result of AF.
Is this huge number something to be concerned about?
PVC Singles - 495
PVC Runs - 4

I went in for my one week checkup this morning. When they removed the bandage there was a corner of the incision that was still very slightly open and had creamy discharge... Sorry for TMI... The tech who removed my bandage cleaned it and sent me on my way. It looks better now, as it has started to scab over.
I am worried that when i take my bra off that it will open the corner again. Yes, I know, I'm just a paranoid 23 year ol...

I was at the technicians yesterday for a check up of my PM.
She said that the upper chamber of my heart was pacing at the rate of 80%. What happens if the pacing rate goes up?
Can someone explain this to me? Is 80% something to be concerned about?
Thanks,
Pinkie

Scheduled to see my Medtronic Rep next week for the first time (3-weeks after implant of a Revo MRI SureScan). Would like to discuss with her the "sleep mode" (rate hysteresis) feature I read about in the reference manual. Apparently when this feature is turned "on", the minimum heart rate setting can be reduced "during extended periods of patient inactivity".
My concern is whether being "inactive" like sitting and reading, watching TV, or driving a car would initiate this sleep mode....

Need help on understanding the basic of my Interrogation Report. The Medtroics website was useless, but perhaps I did not know how to search it. I want to know some simple definitions of DDDR, Mode Switch Detection Rate, Lower and Upper Tracking Rates, Episode Trigger, AS-VS, AP-VS etc. Perhaps this dictionary of common terminology is on our Club Site already. Could not locate it however.
Thank,
Ron

I am coming up to the end of my Medtronics pacers useful battery life and the hospital has issued me with a Medtronic monitoring machine for me to use at home. Is this a new system for the UK pacer patients?

My low rate is now at 80 bpm.... I forgot to ask him if the rate drop response was still set. I should have had my question written, I usually do. I don't think he would change it knowing the severe drops I have had over the years. He said even when it was on 70bpm, I was still having drops. I am now on Midodrine 5mg 3 times a day. I will call Medtronic directly, they will tell me. I actually called yesterday and the rep explained some of the features on the pacemakers. I was hoping my cardiolog...

Hello all! I haven't been on here for a while! I just have a couple questions. I went for my check up yesterday and my doc had the pm rep adjust my pm to include the rate response! It's been working out good, but today, I've had a couple of episodes where above my left breast, around the pm site, I feel a burning sensation! I've had my pm for almost 2 yrs now and have never felt this before.
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, did they get a diagnosis...

I have a Medtronic pacer and it is set at 70, and is on the response mode. I have not been feeling well since December. My pacemaker has been adjusted twice and I am feeling every rate drop, get severe headache and have lost my appetite. I spoke to my cardiogist this morning and he said that I just have to work through it. I told him it was living hell, what I am going through. I used to have episodes every 3-4 months, would spend a day or 2 in bed and was fine for several more months. The...

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
