Its been a while since i've posted here. I've had my pm for a little over 2 years now. Lately I just started walking slowly on the treadmill. The last few days I've been getting a weird feeling when I excersice. It feels like there is a butterfly in my chest. Anyone ever felt this before? I am seeing my EP dr in a few weeks so i'm going to mention it to her then.
Thanks,
Elaina

Another question?! I'm four weeks out and ready to start exercising, however, at my last checkup they want me to be sure I'm not reaching my upper limit if possible. I picked up a heart rate monitor watch and it doesn't work, presuming d/t the pacemaker.
I didn't know if anyone could give me some suggestions on what does work and isn't too pricey.
Thanks again! :)

had pacemaker/defib installed on 10/2/2012. Did my 2nd 5K run today and when approaching the finish line it felt like a pop in my left chest causing me to trip and fall. I got up, felt okay and then had the true "horse kick." Then I was okay, nervous but okay. Called Cardiologist who said if it continues to fire, go to the hospital or call 911. Since I feel fine, I am now at home doing normal routine. Has anyone else had this experience when returning to active running and what did you do?...

Three months ago today and Im feeling great. My old record, on my exercycle, BPM, for one hour was 20.7 miles and 746 calories. Today, APM, I did a little over 20.6 miles and 737 calories. Very close, but Ill take it. I bet I can beat it next time. Leave Sunday for Naples, FL and several days of golf with my brother.
When I first realized I needed a pacemaker, I was going 6-10 seconds between heart beats, I thought OH S--T. But now I realize its no big deal. Sunday will be my firs...

Whilst running I keep having a problem where I will 'burp' and my heart rate will drop from around 115 to 85. Sometimes it will go immediately back up and I carry on running other times it will stay low and I have to walk. I have always been fit and a keen runner. Has anyone else had this type of problem?

I had a PM fitted end of July this year as my heart was pausing for up to 4 seconds, all went ok and checkups have been ok, I am a member of the King's Lynn Cycling Club over here in England and am hoping to race next year, I use a HRM when riding and was told that the reading on the HRM may not be right as the PM and HRM do not like each other ( doctors words not mine ). Has anyone else been told this, anway have been out for a 35 mile ride with no problems. One other question, my son in law dr...

Hi all. I'm 31 and received a medtronic dual pacemaker on the 6th of October. It has been 3 weeks and i already feel almost normal again. I still have some way to go before i can exercise again. I play cricket, and my team started their new season 3 weeks before my op. I played 2 games, but now have to sit out. I would like to know if i'll ever be able to play again, as i have done so all my life at national levels. I'm also a golfer and at 31 my body is in very good shape physically.

I recently had a Medtronic Pacemaker implanted and seem to be doing OK. I am normally a very active person who has run several marathons and now predominantly cycle. I'm looking forward to a full recovery, so that I can again start road biking. I also regularly get massages for muscular soreness and relaxation. Are ther any contraindications for getting a massage with an ICD? If not, how long after the procedure would it be safe to do so? Thanks for any input or replies.

Hey everyone!
Haven't posted in what feels like an age. I know this may be a question for my technicians but I was wondering if it would be ok to do trampolining?
I did this pre pacemaker days, (had pm 5years in April '13) it kept me very fit. Although I never did many somersaults I did used to do other manoeuvres on there. From seat drops ( where you just drop into a seated position onto the bed of a trampoline) to front drops (you land completely flat on your front with your arms ou...

I had my Medtronic fitted a year ago, I'm 57 years old. In the first few months of this year I ran a 21k, 32k and a marathon. I've run the Comrades (90k) marathon 3 times prior to my pacemaker. I often wonder whether I could ever run it again. Has anyone run this great race after having a pacemaker fitted? Or any other advice?

It has been 6 months since PM surgery. I still find myself tired, beyond what I would call normal after workout. Pacemaker due to bradycardia. Will discuss with my cardiologist at my Jan. appointment. Anyone else have these same issues?

Exercise induced PVC and V-tach

About two years ago I had problems with PVCs. I gave up caffeine and they went away. About six months ago I began drinking regular coffee from time to time with no problems. Needless to say this consumption continued and increased.
This past Friday while running on a treadmill, 23 minutes into my run I suddenly suffered a series of PVCs that went into V-tach (pulse rate of 248), accompanied by shortness of breath.
The above was verified by an interrogation of my PM.

My diagnosis for which I will be receiving a PM in a few weeks.
A couple of questions:
What were your symptoms during exercise pre-PM?
What improvement did you have during exercise post-PM?
With me, I could walk all day... as soon as I started to jog, I would hit a wall... I am just hoping to hear others success stories, etc..
Thanks!
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.
