Lead very superficial on skin

My pacemaker lead has always kind of "stuck out" and been visible through the skin on my upper chest. It seems to be even more prominent now than it was before. I am a fairly thin person and have recently lost about 5 pounds and am down to about 115 lbs. icd lead measurements

Hi all
i down loaded my ICD and sent it to the ward the other day and today i received a letter from my icd clinic saying my lead measurements are still on the low side ... this is the first i have heard of this does anyone know what this means ? is it anything to worry about ? any input would be gratefully received

Lead extraction

Good morning to all- I had a St Jude dual PM inserted March 2012 due to 3rd degree heart block following Aortic Valve Replacement. For 2 yrs I was experiencing tachycardia's that would wipe me out and had a constant flicking/thumping in my heart. Feel leads

Hi all,
Just wondering whether anyone has ever felt the leads within their veins.Ive had a few events at night when Ive woken with a "crushing type" chest pain, at the time Ive always been on my side. Once I roll on my back it subsides. Ive had a stress test and results are normal. My cardiologist seems to think people can't feel their leads.Im just wondering whether they move slightly when we're on our sides?? Curious. Thanks in anticipation.

Missed paced beats

Hi, I have a ICD with 2 leads for LQTS and bradycardia.
Recently they found out that my atrial lead is broken (noise + inappropriate mode switches etc.) they switched of the mode switch, so my pacemaker doesn't go haywire anymore. I was in the USA at that moment, and I'm from Europe. They wanted to change the lead in USA, however I would rather have that done at home.

kicking in my side

Hi all I'm 23 and had my pm since October 2013...I had a constant kicking my Dr never seemed to concerned about it went sway for a bit but is back. The vein across my heart are backwards so I know it was hard to place my leads. I've been sick with a cold and my chest hurts And I feel very dizzy again.

Sooooo tired!

I recently had my pacemaker battery changed over a week ago, had the stitches out today and back driving, however I am feeling the whole procedure has knocked me for six, if I sit down longer for 10 mins I easily start dozing. I am very emotional and feel really down. Is this normal and if do when will I feel back to my bubbly self? It was only day surgery but just feel so low. Help!

Battery

Could anyone tell me how much battery is used to interrogate your CRT-D pacer each week. The EP wants to continue this weekly instead of every 3 months. I am feeling good and she says all is well. Replacement

Hi everyone. My battery was replaced at Flora Life Clinic in Johannesburg on Tuesday. I had a local anaesthetic but was out shortly after entering the theatre. The incision is still sore but my best friend is really good at changing my plasters and treating the wound. Thank you all for your concern and advice. This is an amazing site for us bionic people

loose leads

had a medtronic 3 lead installed in nov 2013. all perfect. felt great. 3 days ago lifting a table leg with left arm and in awkward position. heard a slight pop or noise from unit. everything felt ok. but 2 days later feeling a little light headed and slightly dizzy on standing. not bad, but different. took my BP with my home machine. used to be 125/70-75. pulse used to be around 72-78.

Battery replacement

Hi all. The time has come to replace my battery. I use 69% and the cardiologist persuaded me and I go to hospital Tuesday 3 June. Many of you will recall that I didn't want a replacement. However the Dr, like yourselves, said that the pacemaker improves my quality of life and not having it will just make me feel as awful if not more awful than before. Its been 5 years and the doc says my battery is going to be changed this year on my ICD. It has never gone off, thank goodness!
Do they typically replace it with the same kind, or has there been upgrades in the past 5 years so a different one will be put in?

Voltage setting ?

I've had my PM since Oct. 2012. St. Judes, SR RF 1210.
I've recently transferred my care to my local area, it was with a group 40 miles away where I was previously employed. Had my device checked and the tech reset the voltage from the previously set 1.5 volts to a new setting of 2.5 volts.

I was hoping that someone has some advice for me. I had my pacemaker inserted just over 1 year ago, and I still do not feel much better than before the insertion. The pacemaker Clinic is telling me that my right ventricular lead is performing at the lower limits of normal. Not sure what this means as they didn't give me much of an explanation. lead extraction

Hey I am almost 22 had a pacemaker put in at 12
And now I dont need it anymore as I have grown out of my problem (vasovagol syncope episodes)
I am now left with the option to either leave it In for the rest of my life (risk of infection, and the longer its left in harder to extract) or take it out now but there are risks involved with lead extractions.
Im so scared and confused, has anyone had lead extractions that went well

PM/Batt replacement ?

My message is 40% inquiry/60% rant. I've had a Medtronic 3-lead Consulta implanted 2years ago so I've got some time (4 -6 yrs - I'm being 100% paced) before the battery runs low. Checking the posts here, and my personal experience suggests that we all have about a 50% chance of choosing the correct Doc for any procedure. Upper Lead came out 2x in a row

I've only had pacemaker 6 weeks as of this Thursday.

First Surgery Pacemaker had moved within 1/2 hr of surgery, taking the slack out. This was shown on x-ray, VA never told me and upper lead came out on day 5. The Electro Dr. was on vacation so Heart Surgeon did surgery. He never sutured the suture sleeves. So thought it was all him.

Pacemaker cost reimbursement

Hi everyone,
need your guidance.
I had sigma DDR pacemaker implanted in sept-2004.

I just got checkup last month and it shows battery life min-6 months estimated 22 months & max 38 months.
Since am planning fr higher education and will be going abroad, it wont be possible to come back for surgery her.

How long will it last?

I just completed my 12 week checkup. All is ok. My pacemaker is set on demand for skipped heartbeats (sometimes 2-3 at a time) at a minimum of 40 beats per minute. The pacemeker worked 2 per cent of the time in the first three months and the remainder was my normal heart.
Please estimate/guesstimate how long it might be before I need a new battery or a replacement pacemeker. I am 67 years old.
