One day Mirca PM

Just got home from having the micra PM implanted in my heart. Just a little sore in my groin, other than that, I feel great. Day of surgery, I was dizzy, BP 70/50, almost fainted. This morning, Medtronic rep came in and put a huge magnet on my chest connected to a computer. She said  my PM was working great and secure into place. (Inside right ventricle)  One thing that has my mind going is that it will always be there. It will never be removed. When the battery life is up...

POTS and sinus node modification

Hi guys!

I’m not a new member here by any means but I’m not very good at posting. To give a little back I’m 27, post ablation for WPW, having variant x long QT, and a dual pacemaker, and I also have Dysautonomia. My problem is my sinus node. My rates go over 160 standing. 180-190 during daily activities. I know that sinus node modification is contraindicated with Pots but does anyone have any experiences here with it?

14 Day’s since implant

14 day’s on, giddiness gone, pines and needles in my legs gone.

Trying  to exercise my arm, I’m takin Robin 2s advice walking my fingers up the wall and doing some low level rotations of the shoulder, had a bit of seeping from the wound but that seems to have dried up.

The elevator to my 5th floor flat is currently on the blink, the walk up the stairs certainly give the old heart a workout.

Hope to get back to work next week it would...

Recovery Time

I am a 54 year old Ultra Runner who just had a pacemaker installed on Friday 2-16-2018 due to AV block.  I started back to work on Tuesday but only worked partial days because I would get tired after just a few hours.  Today, Sunday 2-25-2018, I walked down the street and back (about 1.5 miles) but felt dizzy.  I feel better than just before I got the pacemake but no where close to "normal".  At this point, should I be concerned or is it just part of th...

Thumping feeling on exercise

So I'm 3 days post surgery for CRT-d. Op was 3hr long as LV lead was difficult to get in the right place and the surgeon was pretty fussy as to where it went. Quite a bit of pain after too as I had subpectoral implantation (I'm skinny). Did 2 days rest but wanted to get out today as was sunny. Probably walked for 30 mins but during that time had alot of thumping feelings going on inside. I'm guessing it just the pacing keeping things in line but did feel really weird. Doesn't...

Lead Extraction

Hi All,

Has anyone had to have their wires removed?

I was suppose to be having my pacemaker buried under the muscle, but after much consideration, the doctors have decided that removing my current pacemaker and wires and then putting in a mirca pacemaker (the new leadless ones - that are inserted through the leg & into the heart) is the best option for me, due to complications with my current pacemaker and also my age (im 22).

Just wondering if anyone has been through th...

Anxiety After Pacemaker Implantation

I had a CRT-P pacemaker implanted a month ago. Feeling ok when I am at home but when I go out I feel anxious and shaky. Can this be from pacemaker settings?  I see my EP in two weeks but meanwhile I’d like to know if anyone else has felt this way.

5 days till CRT-d

Hi,

I'm new on here and from the UK. Scheduled for pacemaker op next week. Pretty fit, walk 5k a day bit of jogging and surfing, can do pretty much everything but EF won't budge over 30%. Diagnosed 7 months ago, had breathing issues and fluid on chest. All that went after 2 weeks of medication and no alcohol. Basically have chemo induced cardiomyopathy from treatment 38 years ago (I'm 46) and a LBBB (qrs 140). Main thing I'm worried about is after the op, could my wellbe...

Wires but no pacemaker? Huh?

A friend had open heart surgery yesterday. One valve repaired, one valve replaced and one artery by-pass. He seems to be doing very well, but in addition to the obvious surgery site, he now has wires sticking out of his chest.

The nurse was asked what the wires were for and he said they were pacemaker wires in case a pacemaker was needed.

???

Doesn't anyone know about this? Do they often place the wires and wait on the pacemaker?

And what about the wires stick...

3rd move in 1 year. - under muscle???

Hi All,

Just wondering if any of you have had your pacemaker moved from a pocket to under the muscle? I had my pacemaker put in October 2016. I have it moved in April 2017 and now I am having it moved again but this time under the muscle (this is happening over the next couple of weeks).

I have had problems since day 1 with the pacemaker. I just will not stay in one place, it likes to move around the pocket, it turns over and stands up, which causes quite a lot of pain.

Hot tubs and pacemakers

I’m 56 and had a pacemaker implanted 3+ weeks ago and was told by my electrophysiologist I can never use my hot tub again because the jet pressure could/would interfere with the device.

Member feedback appreciated, thanks!
